Find similar photos on an external hard drive

Exact duplicates or similar shots?
Exact duplicates contain identical file data. Similar photos may be separate shots or edited versions that look alike. PhotoFold offers both kinds of matching so you can review the results before choosing.
Can I scan an Apple Photos library?
This version works with photo folders. Direct integration with Apple Photos, Lightroom catalogs, and Capture One catalogs is not included.
Which Macs are supported?
This download supports Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. It does not support Intel Macs.
Do photos leave my Mac?
PhotoFold processes your photos locally. Similar-photo analysis and RAW rendering run on your Mac.
Does PhotoFold clean photo metadata?
Use our separate online metadata remover to create a cleaned JPEG for sharing, or inspect EXIF data in your browser. PhotoFold focuses on organizing and reviewing your local photo folders.
